NORTH FALMOUTH, Mass. – September 8, 2011 - Teledyne TapTone, a leading manufacturer of container inspection equipment, announced today that it will unveil a new vision inspection system, TotalVuTM, at the upcoming PackExpo show in Las Vegas on September 26th. The new system follows the tradition of TapTone equipment for reliability, ease of use, and small footprint. The system is designed to be configured with up to four smart cameras to perform a variety of inspections including label inspection, closure inspection, and fill level inspection. Equipped with either color or monochromatic cameras, the unit is both flexible and cost effective. Teledyne Dalsa, a global leader in digital image sensing technology, supplied the smart cameras used in the TotalVu system.
“The TotalVu Vision Inspection System is a great addition to the Teledyne TapTone product line,” said Thomas Altshuler, General Manager of Teledyne Benthos, Inc. “The system brings TapTone’s reliability and expertise in package inspection, together with Teledyne Dalsa’s digital imaging expertise, providing customers with an exceptional vision system for their production lines. The collaboration was an excellent match of core competencies that produced something unique for the marketplace.”
Similar to other Teledyne TapTone inspection sensors, the TotalVu sensor can be combined with other TapTone products to provide multiple inspections on a single controller platform. No major line alterations are required; the system is designed to cantilever over the customer’s existing conveyor. The software is intuitive and container set-up takes only a few minutes.
